One day in Le Pont-de-Montvert: waterfalls, granite and swims
Our ideas for things to do and places to visit in Le Pont-de-Montvert.

Morning

Let's start the day with a walk to a magnificent waterfall, where the bravest can even take a dip!

The Cascade de Runes is a 600-metre path leading to a 46-metre (150 ft) waterfall with a breathtaking view.

Fancy something more fun and sporty?
You can opt for a canyoning trip with Sport Nature Lozère.
Booking required on +33 6 83 41 73 08, or visit their shop on the Esplanade in Florac to book.
A cool, fun outing for young and old in stunning scenery!

Lunchtime

Bring your picnic and stop at the Cascade de Runes picnic area.

Afternoon

Explore the village of Le Pont-de-Montvert and discover a charming Cevennes village (every Wednesday, guided tour with Mariette Emile, booking on +33 6 37 91 66 25).

If you love beautiful scenery, don't miss the Roches Panoramiques!
Park in the car park on the bend, then walk up through the field of rocks, where you will find plenty of photo opportunities.

For a hike through stunning landscapes, visit the Chaos Granitiques de Runes, granite boulder fields on one of the slopes of Mont Lozère, above the village of Runes.

One last idea: head to the Gouffre de l'Oule. Also known as the "Plagette", it is reached by a staircase that goes down to the river beside the road towards Vialas.
A lovely, relaxing swim with family or friends awaits!
