One day on the Causse Mejean: cave, farm and wild horses
Our ideas for things to do and places to visit on the Causse Méjean.

Morning

One day on the Causse Mejean: cave, farm and wild horses

Start your day by discovering the magnificent Aven Armand cave.
An absolute must during your stay in the Cevennes!
The cave is 40 minutes from Florac by car, and booking is strongly recommended in high season. Bookings: +33 4 66 45 61 31.

Lunchtime

One day on the Causse Mejean: cave, farm and wild horses

For lunch, we recommend the A Volta restaurant, just 11 minutes from the Aven Armand.
We suggest booking your table on +33 4 30 43 47 47.

Afternoon

The "Des Brebis et des Hommes" tour (Of Sheep and Men)
For an afternoon with friends or family, book the "Visite des Brebis et des Hommes" on the website of the Ferme Caussenarde d'Autrefois.

The tour has three stages. It begins with a self-guided visit of a historic farm, now an eco-museum, followed by a visit to today's working farm, where young and old will learn plenty about sheep farming.

You will have the chance to taste Armand et Marie ice creams, made from sheep's milk, and to finish, you will enjoy a guided tasting with a food guide at the Fédou cheese dairy.

Get ready for a delicious afternoon full of discoveries!

Przewalski's horses
Go and meet these historic horses, with an immersive discovery or a scientific monitoring experience! Bookings: +33 4 66 45 64 43. You can read more in our article Magical encounter with Przewalski's horses on the Causse Méjean steppes.
